Gut-Healing Matcha Latte

There’s no denying that coffee is super delicious, but for the caffeine sensitive like me, it tends to lead to anxiousness and jitters…but thankfully matcha exists. Not only does it (in my humble opinion) taste better than coffee, but it also has some serious health benefits to boot. It’s a slow-releasing and long-lasting hit of caffeine, aka no jitters or crashing, and it’s full of inflammation fighting antioxidants. Matcha also contains high levels of L-Theanine, an amino acid that helps you feel relaxed while increasing mental alertness and energy, and it’s a source of EGCG, a specific type of antioxidant that has anti-tumor and cancer preventing properties.

This gut-healing recipe is one of the many versions I make on the regular and is full of nourishing ingredients. Collagen for hair, skin, nails, skin and gut benefits; mushroom powder for immune-boosting and protection, raw honey for live enzymes and antioxidants, coconut oil and butter for gut healing fats and fibre, and a pinch of cinnamon for blood sugar management.

INGREDIENTS
1 Teaspoon Ceremonial Grade Matcha
2 Tablespoons Collagen Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Mushroom Powder Blend (I like Goldmine’s Supershroom)
1 Teaspoon Raw Honey
1 Tablespoon Coconut Butter
1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Cinnamon
Hot Water

HOW-TO
* Fill your mug of choice with boiling water. Add all the ingredients to a high-powered blender and pour the water on top. Blend on high for 30 seconds until smooth, creamy and frothy. Pour into a mug and enjoy :)
